How I Started

I learned how to crochet maybe around 10 years ago; my mom taught me.  Shes pretty great.. she has her own blog and everything and travels around Canada.

Crochet Blankets were the first thing I started with.  Mainly because they only require one type of stitch; the single crochet.  I always wanted to try to make other items but I never knew what, or that, I was always hesitant about making them.  Until recently, I switched over to making smaller items that produce more product.  This was because I realized that making blankets were becoming too expensive to make and required a hell of a lot more hours.

I started crocheting roses because  I always really wanted to have some type of plant in my room.  This stemmed from my sister Effie, from Effie Edits.   She’s a very talented photographer/videographer and is pretty much a real plant lady ( with soil & the works).

So, now that you know a little bit about me, lets get to the real reason.

Why do I Crochet Amigurumi Roses?

I wanted to crochet an amigurumi rose because with real plants, I had a few problems:

1. I can’t keep plants alive if my life depended on it.

2. I don’t like the bugs that come with the live plant.

3. What if the plant gets knocked down? The carpet will get dirty.

This is the main reason why I started crocheting Amigurumi Roses.

Through this realization, The Rose Collection has been created.  Here are some creations I have made and are available to purchase:

  • A Dozen Roses,
  • Six Roses, and
  • Single Rose.
